Década 2 is a duo founded in 1985 by Carlos and Mateo, originally named 'Década Hoy,' allegedly inspired by Joy Division's song 'Decades.' They are recognized as pioneers of electronic body music (EBM) in Mexico, as well as for their contributions to industrial and techno music. Carlos left the group in 2018, leading to Mateo continuing as a solo act until his death in 2020.
