Deckchairs Overboard was a power-pop group based in Sydney, Australia, active from 1982 to 1985. The band formed in 1980 with members John Clifforth (vocals, guitar, keyboards, ex-True Wheels), Paul Hester (vocals, drums, ex-International Exiles), Ken Campbell (vocals, guitar), and Steve Carter (bass) under the name The Cheks. In August 1981, they signed with Regular Records, and by January 1982, Cathy McQuade (ex-Ears) replaced Steve Carter on bass, leading to the name change to Deckchairs Overboard.
