Dee Dee Sharp

Dee Dee Sharp is a Philadelphian vocalist born in 1945, originally named Dion LaRue. Producers created the stage name Dee Dee Sharp because everyone called her "D," and she sang in "D-sharp," a theoretical key signature not used by musicians. She later became known by this name sometime between 1966 and 1968 when she got married.
