Dee Dee Warwick was an American singer born on September 25, 1942, in East Orange, New Jersey. She was the younger sister of a famous artist and a cousin of another, as well as the niece of a notable figure in the music industry. In 1963, after signing with a record label, she changed her name from "Warrick" to "Warwick" due to a misspelling of her sister's name on her first hit record, "Don't Make Me Over." Dee Dee Warwick passed away on October 18, 2008.
