Dee Edwards was a soul and disco singer born in June 1945 in Birmingham, Alabama. She passed away on January 25, 2006, in Detroit, Michigan, reportedly due to a heart attack. Raised in Lawton, Dee was a member of a group called The Paragons, alongside her brother Albert Harrell. The group's sole 45 record was titled "My Time Is Important To Me." After The Paragons disbanded, Dee pursued a solo career and released several singles in the 1960s that later became popular within the northern soul scene. In the early 1970s, after marrying an arranger, producer, and songwriter, she changed her last name to Jones. Dee released two albums, one in 1979 and another in 1980, both for the same label.
