The Deep Freeze Mice were an English band from Leicester, active between 1979 and 1989, led by songwriter and guitarist Alan Jenkins. Known for their idiosyncratic blend of psychedelic pop, new wave, and surreal humor, the group released numerous underground albums through their own label, Mole Embalming Records. Their music mixed jangly guitars, odd time signatures, and witty, often absurdist lyrics, earning them a devoted cult following. The Deep Freeze Mice remain celebrated for their eccentric originality and influence on UK experimental pop.
