Delaney Venn was an electric pop band formed in 1978, consisting of Michael Delaney (vocals/guitar), Chris Venn (vocals/guitar), Paul Wheeler (bass), Chris Raggett (guitar), and Tony Doyle (drums). The band released three singles and one album, "Neon Heart," on Leo Records in 1980, produced by Tony Spencer. The second single, "Prisoner," featured backing vocals from Marcia Hines and guitar by Doug Rowe. The music blended electro-pop, smooth reggae, and funk elements. Other contributors to the album included Terry & MonaLisa Young, Lori Balmer, Gary Fredericks, John Sammers, and Phil Rigger. Phil Treloar, noted as one of Australia’s best jazz drummers, also participated in the sessions.
