Delaney/Venn was an electric pop band formed in 1978, consisting of Michael Delaney (vocals/guitar), Chris Venn (vocals/guitar), Paul Wheeler (bass), Chris Raggett (guitar), and Tony Doyle (drums). The band released three singles and one album, "Neon Heart," on Leo Records in 1980, produced by Tony Spencer. Their music blended electro-pop, smooth reggae, and funk elements. The second single, "Prisoner," featured backing vocals by Marcia Hines and guitar by Doug Rowe. The album also included contributions from various musicians, such as Terry & MonaLisa Young, Lori Balmer, Gary Fredericks, John Sammers, and Phil Rigger. Notably, Phil Treloar, one of Australia’s best jazz drummers, participated in the recording sessions.
