Delroy Wilson was a pioneering reggae singer born on October 5, 1948, in Kingston, Jamaica. He began his recording career at the young age of 13. In 1994, Wilson received a special plaque from the Jamaican government in recognition of his enduring legacy to Jamaican music. He continued to record sporadically throughout the early 1990s. Unfortunately, he fell into a coma shortly before his death on March 6, 1995, at the age of 46, due to complications from cirrhosis of the liver, associated with alcohol abuse.
