Denise Anne Christina Drysdale, born on December 5, 1948, is an acclaimed Australian television personality and comedian, widely recognized by her affectionate nickname, Ding-Dong. She began her television career at the age of ten with GTV9 in Melbourne, participating in the junior ballet on the Tarax Show. In 1964, she won the annual Girl of the Year Award with Everybody's and later became Melbourne's first go-go dancer on the show Kommotion at seventeen. Despite having no prior singing experience, Drysdale toured Australia with Ray Brown & The Whispers and secured a recording contract, appearing in 26 episodes of the ABC's Dig We Must. Her popularity led her to entertain troops in Vietnam in late 1967, and she continued to perform for American troops in the Far East in 1969. In 1974, she became known as Ernie Sigley's barrel girl on The Ernie Sigley Show, where she earned her nickname Ding Dong. She won her first TV Week Gold Logie for Most Popular Female Personality on Australian TV in 1975, followed by a second Gold Logie the next year, along with consecutive Silver Logies. Throughout her career, Drysdale has made numerous appearances on various television shows, including The Norman Gunston Show, Celebrity Squares, Young Talent Time, Countdown, Division 4, Homicide, and Bellbird. She has also worked in regional television in Victoria, hosting a morning magazine show
