Dennis Young is a self-taught musician best known as the marimba player and percussionist for the influential early 1980s NYC band Liquid Liquid. Their song "Cavern" gained further recognition when it was sampled by Grandmaster Flash & Melle Mel in "White Lines." Young began playing drums at an early age, which sparked his curiosity to explore other instruments, including marimba, percussion, keyboards, guitar, and vocals. He composes his own music, blending influences from rock, jazz, dance, electronic, and world music, while incorporating unique rhythms and vibrant musical textures. To date, Young has released nine solo albums and has collaborated with several local musicians on production and studio work.
