Desert Dwellers is a musical duo consisting of Amani Friend and Treavor Moontribe, who began their journey as independent music producers and DJs in the deserts of New Mexico and California. They came together in the late '90s after connecting through the legendary Moontribe scene and have since gained a reputation as pioneering and prolific acts in downtempo, psy-bass, and tribal trance music in the United States. The duo has toured extensively across six continents, including a notable 7-week tour with the renowned psychedelic artist Shpongle. They have performed at numerous festivals, including Shambhala, Lightning in a Bottle, Envision, Coachella, Rainbow Serpent, and Boom. Desert Dwellers take a unique approach to digital production, blending the raw sounds of nature with deep bass, earthy percussion, ethereal voices, and cross-cultural instrumentation, creating a sonic experience for the mind and body. They bridge the electronic music vibe with the yoga scene, bringing the sounds of yoga into the electronic dance realm.
