Devid Ciampalini is a musician and composer, known for founding the Ambient-Noise Session collective. His work focuses on the improvisation and composition of electronic music, utilizing synthesizers, field recordings, and magnetic tapes. Operating at the intersection of cosmic and concrete music, his technique involves multitrack recordings on magnetic tape, synthesizer improvisation, and field recordings. He cuts the tape into small portions, mixes them, and reassembles them randomly to create a stereo sound collage. This reel is then used as a random sequence that can be modified live for interactive performances. Since 2011, Devid has collaborated with various musicians and formations, including Metzengerstein, Holy Hole, Flocculi, and New Jooklo Age. He has released records worldwide and performed live across Europe. His music is described as a collage of cosmic and concrete influences, offering a journey through the imaginative sounds reminiscent of the dawn of galaxies. Devid has played alongside numerous artists in the improvisational scene, such as Ezio Piermattei, David Vanzan, Virginia Genta, Eugenio Sanna, and many others.
