Devon Ians, born Christopher Irons on January 16, 1952, in Morant Bay, St. Thomas, Jamaica, is a musician known for his contributions to reggae music. He was nicknamed "Devon" by his school teacher. After moving to Kingston's Greenwitch Farm, he collaborated with Earl Zero to write the song "None Shall Escape," which remains uncredited. In 1975, he established his own label, Cannon Ball Records, to produce and sell his first song, "Last None Train," which he later repressed. The following year, while living in Waterhouse, he worked with Lee Perry to record two more of his compositions, "When Jah Come" and "Ketch Vampire." He received the masters of "Ketch Vampire" as payment, allowing him to repress it on his label, marking it as the second and final release from Cannon Ball. Currently, Devon Ians resides near Hopewell, St. Mary, Jamaica, where he lives with his family and cultivates the land. It is important to note that he is not to be confused with Devon Russell.
