Devon Irons, born Christopher Irons on January 16, 1952, in Morant Bay, St. Thomas, Jamaica, is a musician known for his contributions to reggae music. He was nicknamed "Devon" by his school teacher. After moving to Kingston's Greenwitch Farm, he collaborated with Earl Zero to write the song "None Shall Escape," although it remains uncredited. In 1975, he established his own label, Cannon Ball Records, to produce his first song, "Last None Train," which he sold himself and later repressed. The following year, while living in Waterhouse, he met Lee Perry and recorded two of his compositions, "When Jah Come" and "Ketch Vampire." For "Ketch Vampire," he received the masters in exchange for payment in kind, allowing him to repress it under his label, marking it as the second and last track released by Cannon Ball. Currently, he resides near Hopewell, St. Mary, Jamaica, where he lives with his family and sustains himself through agriculture. It is important to note that Devon Irons is not associated with Devon Russell.
