Dick Gaughan is a Scottish folk musician, singer, songwriter, guitar player, and producer, born on May 17, 1948, in Glasgow. He is perhaps best known as a solo artist but has also been a member of various groups and founded one as well. Gaughan was a founding member of the Edinburgh Folk Centre in the 1960s and was a partner in a project from 1986 to 1995. He went professional in 1970 and continued to perform until September 2016, when his career was impacted by the effects of a stroke.
