Dick Higgins (1938-1998) was a composer, poet, printer, and early Fluxus artist born in Cambridge, England, and later passing away in Quebec, Canada. He studied composition under notable figures and married an artist in 1960. In 1963, he founded Something Else Press. Higgins is best known for his "Danger Music" scores and for coining the term "Intermedia," which describes the interdisciplinary activities that emerged in the 1960s. He was also an early advocate for the use of computers in art-making, utilizing them as a creative tool since the mid-1960s.
