Dick Rivers was a French rock singer born on April 24, 1945, in Nice, and he passed away on the same date in 2019 in Paris due to cancer. His stage name was inspired by the character portrayed by Elvis Presley in the film "Loving You." Rivers recorded his first album with the French rock band "Les Chats Sauvages" on his 15th birthday in 1961, but he left the group a year later to pursue a solo career. Throughout his career, he was associated with various production companies and labels. Unlike other French rock singers of the 1960s, such as Johnny Hallyday and Eddy Mitchell, Rivers did not embark on an acting career until 1999, when he worked with director Jean-Pierre Mocky, who also directed a music video for him.
