Dickie Goodman (April 19, 1934 – November 6, 1989) was a pioneering figure in the use of sampling in music. Born in Brooklyn, New York, he is best known for his series of novelty records released between 1956 and 1986, starting with "The Flying Saucer Parts 1 & 2." Goodman created "break-in" records that featured snippets of popular songs spliced together, accompanied by dialogue presented in the style of a radio show or interview.
