Die Tödliche Doris (The Lethal Doris) was a performance art and music group based in West Berlin from 1980 to 1987. Founded by members born in 1957 and 1958 (the latter of whom passed away in 1996), the group later included additional members born in 1958 and others. Known for their anarchic performances and ever-changing sound, they aimed to move away from organized music, drawing inspiration from the Deconstructionist philosophical movement's approach to writing and text. The band gained further recognition after a member published the book "Geniale Dilletanten" (Ingenious Dilletantes) with MERVE publishing house, which focused on French and German postmodernist/post-structuralist philosophy. This led critics to associate the band with the title, alongside similar artists.
