Die Verboten is a Belgian krautrock-influenced band formed by David and Stephen Dewaele of Soulwax, along with Riton and his brother-in-law Fergus Purcell (also known as Fergadelic). The band was initially announced in late 2006 in the Belgian weekly magazine HUMO and made their official debut in June 2009 with the release of 'Live In Eivissa' on The Vinyl Factory. Later that year, in an interview with Resident Advisor, David and Fergadelic revealed plans for their next release, a DVD titled DieVerbotenDisc, which was intended to include two albums worth of material recorded up to that point. However, this release was never published. Die Verboten resurfaced in November 2015 with '2007', featuring unreleased recordings from 2007, released on Deewee.
