Die Welttraumforscher is a mysterious musical project from Switzerland, known for a vast catalog that includes over 30 albums, films, stories, and numerous illustrations. The project features small creatures with gentle eyes, resembling friendly ghosts rather than scientists, depicted with childlike innocence and meticulous detail. Their universe contains characters like the "Moon Pope," Kip Eulenmeister, and Leguan Rätselmann, who embark on bizarre adventures infused with elements of science fiction, metaphysics, and dadaism. The enigmatic figure behind the project is Christian Pfluger, who is credited with the lyrics, music, and illustrations. Unlike typical artists, Pfluger rarely performs live, which adds to the mystique surrounding Die Welttraumforscher. The project primarily operates in German, contributing to its niche status, although it has achieved cult recognition among musicians, with admirers such as Mouse on Mars, Neoangin, and Dieter Meier from Yello. In 1999, they collaborated with other artists to release a remix LP on Felix Kubin's Gagarin label.
