**Bio: Dil E Nadan** Dil E Nadan is a renowned band that has been a significant part of the music scene since its formation in 1957 by Usaf Khan and Ramnarine Moonilal. The band gained acclaim by winning the Prime Minister’s Trophy for best Indian orchestration in 1962, judged by the legendary Mohammed Rafi. Over the decades, Dil E Nadan has dominated the local Indian music industry, particularly in the 1980s when they toured Canada, Guyana, and Suriname, featuring some of the best local singers of the time, including Nazimool and Ruby, and Ras Nancoo. The mid-80s saw the addition of Ramnarine's sons, Rennie and Raymond, who initially joined as percussionists before transitioning to trumpets, guitars, and keyboards. With the encouragement of their manager Haseeb Majid, Raymond launched his career as a lead singer, winning first place in the national duet singing competition with Swarsati Maraj in 1989. This marked a significant moment for the rise of Indian culture among the youth in Trinidad and Tobago. The following year, Raymond placed second in the Mastana Bahar grand finals, alongside his brother Rennie, and in 1990, their youngest brother Richard joined the band as a Tabla and Dholak player.
