Dimples D, born Crystal Smith, is an American rapper from New York City. She gained recognition with her track "Sucker DJ's (I Will Survive)," produced by Marley Marl, which was released in 1983. Although it initially made little impact, a remix released seven years later achieved chart success across Europe. This track came out a year before Marley Marl's notable work on Roxanne Shanté's "Roxanne's Revenge." Dimples D's song was frequently sampled by Marl, who later reworked it in 1990, incorporating a sample from the I Dream of Jeannie theme song, which contributed to its European chart success.
