Dion & The Belmonts were originally a trio known as "The Belmonts," an American doo-wop group from the Bronx, New York. They derived their name from Belmont Street, where all the original members lived at the time. The group released their first single in 1957, and in 1958, they evolved into a quartet when Dion joined them. However, around 1961, Dion parted ways with the Belmonts, who then signed with Sabina Records, while Dion continued with Laurie Records.
