Dionne Warwick is an American singer, actress, and TV show host, born on December 12, 1940, in East Orange, New Jersey, USA. She is the mother of a singer and producer and has various familial connections, including a sister, a niece, and a cousin. Warwick was married twice to a drummer and actor from 1965 to 1975. She initially changed her artist name from "Warrick" to "Warwick" due to a misspelling on the labels of her hit record "Don't Make Me Over," and she also went by "Warwicke" during the early 1970s. Ranked among the 40 biggest hit makers between 1955 and 1999 based on her chart history on Billboard's Hot 100 pop singles chart, Warwick is one of the most-charted female vocalists of all time. Between 1962 and 1998, she had 56 singles make the Hot 100, with 12 reaching the Top Ten, and a total of 80 singles – either solo or in collaboration – making the Hot 100, R&B, and/or adult contemporary charts. Notable songs in her career include "Walk On By," "Alfie," "You're Gonna Need Me," "That's What Friends Are For," and "I'll Never Love This Way Again."
