Dionne Warwick is an American singer, actress, and TV show host, born on December 12, 1940, in East Orange, New Jersey, USA. She is the mother of a singer and producer and has notable familial connections including a sister, a niece, and a cousin. Warwick was married twice to a drummer and actor from 1965 to 1975. She initially changed her artist name from "Warrick" to "Warwick" due to a misspelling on the labels of her hit record "Don't Make Me Over," and she also went by "Warwicke" during the early 1970s. Warwick ranks among the 40 biggest hit makers between 1955 and 1999 based on her chart history on Billboard's Hot 100 pop singles chart. She is one of the most-charted female vocalists of all time, with 56 of her singles making the Hot 100 between 1962 and 1998, including 12 that reached the Top Ten. In total, she has 80 singles that have made the Hot 100, R&B, and/or adult contemporary charts. Notable songs in her career include "Walk On By," "Alfie," "You're Gonna Need Me," "That's What Friends Are For," and "I'll Never Love This Way Again."
