Disc was a collaborative project formed by experimental electronic musicians Drew Daniel, Martin Schmidt, Miguel Depedro, and Jason Doerck. The group was known for their innovative approach to music, utilizing etched, painted, and defective compact discs along with DAT cassettes played on broken players to create their distinctive glitch and sample collage sound. Their debut album, Gaijincd4, featured a bonus non-functional multimedia disc, and subsequent releases included hidden "negative" tracks that could only be accessed by traditional CD players. Between 1997 and 1998, Disc released four CDs, including a collaboration with a Japanese noise artist. Their only vinyl release was a 2x12-inch 'DJ tool' record containing 10 songs and 105 locked grooves, issued by Deluxe Records in 1999. Since then, the project appears to be inactive.
