Divine Sounds is an old school rap group hailing from Bedford-Stuyvesant, Brooklyn, New York. The group, consisting of members DJ Mike Music, Disco Ritchie, and Shelton D, made their debut in 1984 with the track "What People Do For Money." Prior to their recording success, DJ Mike Music was a familiar face in Bedford Stuyvesant's Lafayette Park, where he infused funk into the hip-hop scene. He is also recognized as the first DJ to rap on a record.
