Shigeru Ishihara, known professionally as DJ Scotch Egg, is a Japanese electronic music producer celebrated for his innovative fusion of chiptune, gabber, and breakcore. Emerging in the early 2000s UK underground scene, he captivated audiences with high-energy performances utilizing Nintendo Game Boys to craft his distinctive sound. Relocating to Berlin in 2011, Ishihara expanded his musical palette to include hip-hop, trap, dub, and African influences. He is a member of the tropical pop duo WaqWaq Kingdom and plays bass in the shoegaze band Seefeel. His recent work includes the "Kanpai" EP with MC Ethnique Punch and the 2025 album "Scotch Sambal," inspired by his residency in Yogyakarta, Indonesia.
