DJ Frane is a recognized DJ known for his mixtapes and acrobatic turntable solos, having opened for notable rappers like Doug E. Fresh, Medusa, and Tha Liks. He has produced underground beats for members of Warren G's G-Funk clique and collaborated with funk legends such as Mandrill and Blowfly. DJ Frane has gained acclaim for his instrumental concept albums, which offer a unique sound. His debut solo album, "Frane's Fantastic Boatride (or beats to blaze to volume 1)," released on Goodvibe Recordings, became a favorite on college radio and is featured in the joint-smoking scene of the film "Romeo Must Die." The album has also been recognized as the soundtrack for real-life herb smoking sessions worldwide and was named Best Record to Freestyle Over by Vice Magazine. The album cover was designed by Mike Shinoda, the rapper from Linkin Park.
