DJ Pierre is a DJ, producer, club owner, and promoter from Chicago, Illinois. He pioneered the acid house sound in the mid-to-late 1980s and was signed in the late 1980s by a former A&R. In 1990, he moved to New York, where he created the looped-up, layered 'wild pitch' style, inspired by the parties thrown by DJs. He worked as an A&R at a label from February 1992 to April 1994. In 1999, he founded a label and later established Afro Acid Muzik in April 2007. He relocated to Atlanta, Georgia in 2008 and is currently based in Duluth. DJ Pierre is also the brother of Reuben Jones, also known as DJ Spank Spank.
