DJ Seinfeld, real name Armand, is an electronic music producer originally from Malmö, Sweden, and currently based in Barcelona, Spain. He began his musical journey in Edinburgh, where he was encouraged by a respected friend to experiment with music as a form of cathartic relief from his studies. After returning to Malmö, his passion for music grew, fueled by support from old school friends and the desire to avoid a conventional 9-5 lifestyle. Following a move to Barcelona and the end of a relationship, Armand created music inspired by his experiences, which he released under the name DJ Seinfeld. Initially intended as a temporary side project, DJ Seinfeld gained traction in late 2016 with the release of the Season 1 EP by Lobster Theremin. The EP's meme-like artwork and playful track titles, such as "Feel de Bum Slap," led to questions about his authenticity, placing him alongside other producers in the ironic "lo-fi house" scene, including Ross from Friends and DJ Boring. Despite the skepticism, the media attention propelled his career forward, resulting in additional releases in 2017 through labels like Natural Sciences, E-Beamz, and Endotherm. His debut full-length album, Time Spent Away from U, was released on Lobster Fury in November.
