DJ Sneak is a prominent figure in the Chicago house music scene, recognized as one of the influential producers from the second wave of Chicago house and a key player in the late '90s American house movement. Although not born in Chicago, he developed a passion for house music after his family moved from Puerto Rico in the early '80s. Initially unable to speak English, Sneak was drawn to instrumental music and graffiti art, finding inspiration in the works of Chicago legends. By the time he was ready to enter the music business in the late '80s, many early innovators had moved to the East Coast. However, by 1992, a resurgence of Chicago's classic sound began, and DJ Sneak contributed to this revival with a series of singles on Cajual's sister label. He has also produced tracks for various labels, including Strictly Rhythm, Henry St., ZYX, 83 West, and Feverpitch, often collaborating with others to infuse Latin vibes into his music. In addition to his production work, DJ Sneak has released mix compilations such as the 1996 Kinky Trax Collection and the following year's Buggin' Da Beats. He also worked at Gramophone Records in Chicago.
