DJ Zinc is a prominent DJ and producer from the United Kingdom, known for his influential contributions to various music genres, including drum and bass, breakbeat, and house music. He first gained recognition in 1995 with his hit track "Super Sharp Shooter," a fusion of hip hop and jungle. Zinc's career dates back to the early '90s, when he began producing music as part of the eight-volume series Swift and Zinc, released on The Brain Progression imprint. Throughout his career, he has worked with a wide range of labels and has been a fixture on the pirate radio circuit, including stations like Impact FM and Rinse FM. He was one of the first drum and bass producers to make a mark in the 2-step garage scene with his 1999 single "138 Trek," which reached No. 27 on the UK charts. Zinc has collaborated with notable collectives such as Ganja Kru and True Playaz, often alongside DJ Hype. He also ran the Bingo Beats record label from 2002 to 2008 and has released music under various aliases, including Dope Skillz and Jammin.
