Dom Um Romão was a Brazilian jazz drummer, percussionist, and composer born on August 3, 1925, in Rio de Janeiro, Brazil. He passed away on July 27, 2005, in his hometown. Throughout his career, he played with numerous artists and was a member of a prominent group from 1971 to 1974. He recorded as a leader for various labels, contributing to the rich tapestry of Brazilian jazz.
