Dominic Dawson, born in 1968, is a DJ, producer, and musician who began his career in Brighton during the mid-1980s. He relocated to London in 1987, where he started producing and DJing house music. Under his Hydraulic Dogs moniker, he achieved national top 40 success with the track "Shake It For Me." Over the past 25+ years, he has performed at clubs worldwide, from Tokyo to New York and across major cities in Europe and South Africa. Dawson has released music on notable labels such as Defected (Glitterbox, 4 To The Floor), Strictly Rhythm, King Street, Sony (Directions), Other & Guidance, and currently operates his own two labels, Disco Sonitus and Momotaro Music. Since the early 1990s, he has been a sought-after remixer for various artists, including A Man Called Adam, The Chemical Brothers, Jacob Collier, Chaz Jankel, Arthur Baker, First Choice, Al Green, Odessey, Imagination, Will Dawson, Kenny Hawkes, Mutabaruka, and C. J. Glover, among others.
