Don Cherry was an American avant-jazz trumpeter, born on November 18, 1936, in Oklahoma City. He had a long association with his career, which spanned several years. Cherry was the father of three children and served as a stepfather to another. He passed away on October 19, 1995, in Malaga, Spain.
