Don Campau is a musician, radio host, and archivist who has been active in music since 1969. He was part of The Roots Of Madness, an avant-garde collective, from 1969 to 1974, which released one album in 1971. In 1971, he began hosting a radio show on KTAO-FM in Los Gatos, California, under the guidance of Lorenzo W. Milam, featuring a diverse range of music including ethnic, avant-garde jazz, and outsider material. From 1974 to 1976, Don and Geoff Alexander owned Dogmouth Records, a retail outlet in Los Gatos that specialized in rare and unusual LPs. In 1978, he started another radio program on KKUP-FM in Cupertino, California, focusing on jazz, ethnic, contemporary classical, and improvised music. In 1985, he established the format "No Pigeonholes," which showcased home recorded cassettes from the international home recording movement known as "cassette culture." Don continues to broadcast independent music on KKUP, Radio Marabu in Europe, and online at The Luver.com. Throughout his career, Don has recorded his own albums, primarily home recorded rock songs, and has collaborated with various home recording musicians globally. He founded the Lonely Whistle label in 1984 to release his albums and those of friends and associates. On August 1, 2009, he launched The Living Archive Of Underground
