Donna Dee is a seasoned producer and DJ who has been active since 1994, primarily focusing on UK Garage while also participating in various Hip Hop and Funk events. She is known for her classic tracks, including "I Want Your Love," released on Love Peace and Unity Recordings, and "Haunted House," a collaboration with Mystic Matt and James Lavonz. Under her alias Lady P, she produced several releases on the UK Garage label Confetti Records alongside her production partner, The Abstract. Her early productions, including those as Lady P, were created using a simple setup featuring an Akai 950 and an Atari computer running Cubase, later upgrading to an MPC 2000 for beats. "I Want Your Love" caught the attention of Mickey Finn at the renowned Music House Dub Cutters, who passed it to Darren Jay of Mecca Records, a label focused on signing underground artists. At that time, Donna did not have her own studio and was using ILS (Goodlooking Records) studio at night. Mecca Records offered her an advance deal for her album, enabling her to purchase her own studio, a pivotal moment in her career. In 1998, she released her album "Spellbound," which received accolades as Album of the Month in various music publications, including Mixmag and DJ Magazine.
