Donna Summer was an American singer, songwriter, pianist, painter, and actress, born on December 31, 1948, in Boston, Massachusetts. She passed away on May 17, 2012, in Englewood, Florida, at the age of 63 due to lung cancer. Known as the "Queen of Disco," "Boston Panther," and "First Lady of Love," Summer got her stage name from an Austrian actor to whom she was married for two years and with whom she had a daughter. She had two sisters and married in 1980, with whom she had two daughters, Brooklyn and another daughter. Donna Summer was inducted into the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame in 2013.
