Donnie & Joe Emerson is a musical duo from the small farming town of Fruitland, Washington. Their journey began in 1977 when their father purchased a tractor equipped with an AM-FM radio, exposing them to popular music for the first time. Inspired by this new influence, the brothers started writing and playing music. Their father, Don Emerson Sr., encouraged their passion by taking out a bank loan to build a recording studio for them. With the support of their high school music teacher, who became their mentor, they self-released their album "Dreamin' Wild" in 1979. Despite having no prior experience in the record industry, the album initially saw no commercial success until it was rediscovered in 2008 by record collector Jack Fleischer. It was reissued by Light in the Attic Records in 2012. In May 2012, artists Dean Blunt and Inga Copeland covered the song "Baby," followed by Ariel Pink in June 2012, both of which helped introduce modern listeners to the original artists. In 2014, a new album featuring older unreleased material was released by Light in the Attic Records.
