Dooley Silverspoon is an American singer born on October 31, 1946, in Lancaster, South Carolina. He began his musical journey at the age of 6 as a gospel singer. At 13, he moved to New York as part of a tour and recorded his first music in 1965 under the name "Little Dooley." In 1972, he released his first record for the R&B label North Bay Records, a single titled '(It's Got To Be) Now Or Never,' produced by Bobby Martin. In 1975, he collaborated with his manager, writer, and producer Sonny Casella, resulting in the single "Bump Me Bay Pt1," which reached #80 on the Billboard chart on March 22, 1975. Later that year, he released his only album, featuring the track "Let Me Be the Number One (of Your Life)," which peaked at #44 in the UK Charts on January 31, 1976. Both singles also gained popularity in the Netherlands, with "Let Me Be the Number One" reaching #4 in the Tipparade. Several cover versions, remixes, and samples of Silverspoon's music exist, including a cover of "Bump Me Baby" by Rudy Genasky in 1975. His 1978 single, "Mr Deluxe Part 1 & 2," has also been remixed and included in various compilations.
