Dr. L. Subramaniam, born on July 23, 1947, in Madras, India, is an Indian violin prodigy who made his first public appearance at the age of 6. He earned a master's degree in music and taught South Indian music at Cal Arts. Additionally, he completed medical training at Madras Medical College and registered as a medical practitioner before leaving the U.S. Dr. Subramaniam has received numerous awards for his playing and compositions and is among the first Indians to release a compact disc. He is related to several notable individuals and has been married twice. He is also a father and has siblings.
