Dr. Strangely Strange is an experimental/psychedelic Irish folk group formed in Dublin in 1967. The band, founded by Tim Booth and Ivan Pawle, recorded two albums and toured extensively before disbanding in May 1971. They reunited several times for tours and one-off live performances, and recorded a third album in 1996. The group played their first show in October 1967, with a guitarist who was part of the lineup. A keyboardist and vocalist joined for performances throughout 1968, followed by a multi-instrumentalist who became involved later that year. Caroline Greville, who played percussion and provided vocals, was a member from 1968 to 1969. The band often featured additional musicians live during this period and had a lead guitarist for their second album in 1970. A drummer joined in 1970, but Goulding left early in 1971, leading to a temporary replacement for a 6-week European tour before the group dissolved. Tim Booth led a new lineup through 1973, and subsequent reunion lineups have included various members since 1980, sometimes augmented by additional players.
