Dream Dolphin is a Japanese New Age/Ambient/Electronic solo music project formed in 1992 by the artist known simply as Noriko Okamoto (岡本法子) / Noriko Kodera (小寺法子), born on June 27, 1979, in Tokyo, Japan. Starting at the age of sixteen, Noriko transitioned from studying classic Italian songs to creating music inspired by influential artists such as PiL and films like ‘2001: A Space Odyssey’ and ‘Le Grand Bleu’. Dream Dolphin's music, which blends Ambient, IDM, Techno, Trance, and Drum & Bass with natural sounds and spoken word lyrics, is known for its uniqueness and versatility. The project released over twenty albums in just eight years and was active until its disbandment in 2004, before reuniting in 2024. In addition to her own work, Noriko has compiled various albums and composed ambient music for use in hospitals and caring environments. The official CD inserts indicate that Dream Dolphin includes members Noriko, Water M.S., and Fire T-1.
