Drop Nineteens is an alternative rock/shoegaze band hailing from Boston, MA, formed in 1991. The band initially disbanded in 1995 but reunited in 2022, releasing their first album in 30 years, titled "Hard Light," in 2023. They have a collection of thirteen early demo songs known as "Mayfield," which remain officially unreleased but can be found online. Additionally, there are known demos from their earlier days when they were called In April Rain, although these have never surfaced. The original line-up consisted of Greg Ackell (guitar, vocals, songwriter), Paula Kelley (vocals, guitar), Motohiro Yasue (guitar), Steve Zimmerman (bass), and Chris Roof (drums). After their first album, Paula Kelley, Chris Roof, and Motohiro Yasue departed, leading to a new lineup that included Megan Gilbert (vocals, guitar), Pete Koeplin (drums), and Justin Crosby (guitar). The 2023 reunion line-up features Greg Ackell, Paula Kelley, Motohiro Yasue, Steve Zimmerman, and Pete Koeplin.
