D-Side is an Irish boyband formed in 2001 by twin doctors and management moguls Rory and Eoghan Mac Sweeney. The group achieved notable success in Japan, the United Kingdom, and Europe, winning the Best New Band Award at the Smash Hits Tour in 2002. Originally consisting of five members—Ryan O'Rian, Shane Creevey, Derek Moran, Damien Bowe, and Dane Guiden—the band eventually became a trio after Damien and Dane left for personal reasons.
