Dur Dur Band is a musical group hailing from Mogadishu, Somalia, founded in 1984. The band features a diverse lineup of talented musicians, including Isse Dahir Qassim on keyboard, Abdulahi Ujeeri Ajami on bass guitar, and Adan Mohamed Ali Handal on drums. The ensemble also includes saxophonists Musa Mohamed Araci and Abdul Dhegey, as well as trumpeter Ali Dhere. The bass section is bolstered by Mohamed Ali Mohamed, while guitarist Yusuf Abdi Haji Aleevi, also known as "Alype," adds depth to the sound. Vocals are provided by a group of singers, including Mukhtar Ramadan Idii, Shimaali Ahmed Shimaali, Sahra Abukar Dawo, Abdulahi Sharif Hasan "Baastow," Abdinur Adan Daljir, Mohamed Ahmed Qomaal, and Abdukadir Mayow Buunis. Abukar Dahir Qassim takes on the role of lead guitarist, and Ahmed Dahir Qassim serves as the sound engineer. The rhythmic foundation is enhanced by conga players Ooyaaye Eise and Ali Bisha, along with backing vocalists Mohamed Karma, Dahir Yaree, and Murjaan Ramandan.
