Duralcha is a funk band hailing from Hillside High School in Durham, North Carolina. The band's name is a combination of the North Carolina town names Durham, Raleigh, and Chapel Hill. The original lineup included Stanley Saunders on trombone, Terry Bullock on trumpet, Bobby Moody on saxophone, Doug Kelly on guitar, Alfred Burton Jr. on drums, Jonathan Eubanks on bass and guitar, Michael Meeks on vocals, Craig Beaumont, and Larry Knight on percussion and vocals. Initially, the group intended to be called "Duracha," but their only single was released under the misspelled name Duralcha. Notably, the song "Ghet-to Funk" was recorded by a rival group known as "The Black Experience Band."
